Nursery Additional Sessions and Lunch Club

All children aged 3-4 are entitled to 15 hours of free early education for 38 weeks of the year and children at our Nursery attend either morning or afternoon sessions. Since September 2017, working families who meet the criteria have been eligible for 30 hours a week (1140 hours) free child care for nursery-aged children. You can find more information about this and about eligibility from the Hertfordshire County Council’s website: www.hertfordshire.gov.uk and also by visiting www.childcarechoices.gov.uk

This new entitlement means that in addition to each child’s existing 15 hour free early education place, we offer eligible children the opportunity to attend our Nursery for an additional 15 hours, i.e. up to 30 hours in total including lunch clubs (children need to bring a home-paced lunch). In the current year 2017-18 30 hours children finish their entitlement on Friday at 10.30 am; many parents choose then to purchase additional hours and either complete the morning and lunch club or continue until 3.30 pm when all children leave.

We will also continue to offer parents who are not eligible for the free 30 hours the opportunity to purchase additional sessions and/or participation in our daily home-packed lunch club subject to availability of places.
