Attendance

School attendance is vital for a child's success, impacting their academic achievement, social and emotional well-being, and future life opportunities, including earning potential and employment prospects. Consistent attendance ensures continuous learning, builds positive habits for adulthood, fosters social development through peer relationships, and reduces the likelihood of falling behind academically. By understanding these benefits, both parents and schools can work together to address barriers and support children in developing a consistent and positive attendance record.

At The Giles Nursery and Infants' School, we follow the statutory guidance set out in 'Working together to improve school attendance' (Department for Education, 2024).

We encourage good attendance and ask parents/carers to follow the advice here: Attendance - Every Day Counts
