Admissions

Admission Procedures for Nursery:

  • You will be notified by the Hertfordshire Education Authority (LEA) the year before your child is due to start nursery that the process will be commencing online.
  • Online you can access all the information and dates at

http://www.hertsdirect.org/services/edlearn/css/parents/feechildcare/threeyearolds/nursadmis/

  • You can list up to four schools.
  • Your most preferred school should be listed first.
  • The school will then offer places based on numbers available. You will be contacted by the school which is able to offer your child a place.
  • In most cases this will be your first choice.
  • There will be one yearly intake, in September.

If there are more applications than places the school will then apply a series of admission rules. These rules have varied during the last few years but current rules are available at www.hertsdirect.org/admissions.

Admission Procedures for Reception:

The whole procedure will be repeated in the following autumn when the LEA will invite you to apply for your child's Reception place. Admission information is available online at www.hertsdirect.org/admissions.

Children are admitted into the main school in September. Many of the children in our Reception classes come from our Nursery.

  • Online you can access all the information and timescales relating to applications and closing dates.
  • The Admissions Team will email you when places have been allocated.  You will then be able to go back online to see which school has been allocated to your child.

If there are more applicants than places the County Admissions Team will apply a series of admission criteria. These rules have varied during the past few years but current rules are available at hertsdirect.org/admissions.

If you are new to the area and the online process has closed for a reception place then you will have to fill out an 'In Year' admissions form. This can be accessed by following the link at http://www.hertsdirect.org/services/edlearn/admissions/inyear/  or by telephone on 0300 1234043.
