Welcome to The Giles Nursery and Infants’ School website. Our school is a lovely oasis of calm and creative learning. We are very proud that it has established a local reputation for high standards, high achievement, good behaviour and kindness. We understand how young children learn and provide a richly creative environment in which our children enjoy abundant and engaging learning experiences. These promote ownership of learning and lead to high standards of achievement.

We are an inclusive school that strives to maintain a loving and caring school community where everyone feels welcome, secure and valued. Children develop independence, responsibility, compassion and good manners through a detailed and extensive personal, social and health education programme.

The school’s most recent Ofsted/HMI inspection of February 2020 judged the school to be ‘good’, and stated that 'there is enough evidence of improved performance to suggest that the school could be judged outstanding'. Our most recent Hertfordshire Review in December 2021 awarded the school a ‘dark green’ which means that The Giles Nursery and Infants' School is "a very strong school which would be likely to gain or maintain 'outstanding' under the 2019 EIF".
