Welcome to The Giles Nursery and Infants' School.

Welcome to the Giles Nursery and Infants’ School website. Our school is a lovely oasis of calm and creative learning. We are very proud that it has established a local reputation for high standards, high achievement, good behaviour and kindness. We understand how young children learn and provide a richly creative environment in which our children enjoy abundant and engaging learning experiences. These promote ownership of learning and lead to high standards of achievement.

We are an inclusive school that strives to maintain a loving and caring school community where everyone feels welcome, secure and valued. Children develop independence, responsibility, compassion and good manners through a detailed and extensive personal, social and health education programme.

The warmth and friendliness of pupils…and their good behaviour reflect the impact of the school’s nurturing environment and good quality pastoral care, guidance and support.’ - Ofsted

The school’s most recent Ofsted/HMI inspection of May 2016 judged the school to be ‘good’, confirming the previous 2011 inspection judgement which was also ‘good’ and ‘outstanding’ in terms of children’s academic achievement and overall progress. Our most recent Hertfordshire Review in June 2019 awarded the school an ‘outstanding’ in every category.

We are proud of our school. Discover more about how our children enjoy their learning and their time here through our website, or arrange a visit through our school office. Visitors are always very welcome. Our children are at the heart of all we do here at The Giles Nursery and Infants’ School and their successes are a credit to them, our staff, our governors and our parents and carers.

“A fantastic school, all of my children have thrived here. The teachers are amazing."
