Why not send a message of hope to local organisations?

Mrs Humphrey has been in touch with some organisations in our local community that may have been very affected by the pandemic or have been crucial to us, with key workers keeping these places open throughout the pandemic. They have replied to say how touched they are that we are thinking of them at this time and would love to receive a drawing, painting, card or letter from the children of our school. If you would like to post something to all, some or one of the following places they would be grateful to receive them and will send me a photograph of what you have sent to put on our school website as their way of saying thank you back to us. If you have more than one child in the school, please could I request that each child sends something to a different place to ensure each organisation receives something? Please sign your work with The Giles Nursery and Infants’ School on the front so that they know it has come from us. You can put your child’s name if you wish.

You might like to include messages that say ‘thank you’, ‘keep strong’, ‘stay safe’, ‘stick together’, ‘keep smiling’.

Martins House:  A care home for residents over 65. The carers have continued to work hard throughout the pandemic, providing the residents with personalised care and would feel touched if they received a message of thanks. The residents are missing their families as they are not allowed any visitors so it might put a smile on their face to know someone is thinking of them.

The carers here have also continued to work harder than ever throughout the pandemic and were happy to hear that we would be sending them messages. They will put a photograph of the cards and pictures on their Facebook page but we will also put them on our school website.
