The Comet has helped us celebrate turning 50 by publishing an article. Please click here to see the story.

  • Underpass project this weekend!

    Fri 10 Sep 2021

This weekend Junction 7 Productions will be painting a mural in the underpass by Giles Park, why not pop along and see them at work on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th September.  There will be an opening ceremony on October 2nd – details to follow.

  • No change to COVID safety measures currently in place until the end of term

    Fri 16 Jul 2021

Please be aware that from 19th July 2021 there will be NO change in the restrictions we have in place currently for the school.

This includes the following measures which we would be very grateful for all families to adhere to until the end of term:

    • Wearing masks on site
    • Avoiding face to face communication without an appointment
    • Adhering to the one-way system

While we appreciate the risk of being taken seriously ill has been reduced, it is still the case that if the virus is contracted by someone there is a larger risk of it spreading and therefore large groups of people being in contact with a positive case and being asked to isolate.  We are desperate to avoid this during the final few days of term and then into the school summer holidays.  As many of you may have holidays booked before the 2nd August I am sure you will want to avoid being contact raced by the NHS and being told to self-isolate.

Thank you for your support. We will all stay safe together and enjoy a wonderful and thoroughly well-deserved summer holiday!

  • Announcements

    Fri 16 Jul 2021

We are very sorry to have to tell you all that we are losing some cherished colleagues at the end of this academic year.

Mrs Francis, who has worked as a highly skilled TA for twenty years at the school, has decided to retire. She has been a wonderful TA in Year Two for many years, has worked with the greatest dedication and devotion to the children throughout her time at the school and will be greatly missed by us all. We wish Mrs Francis a long and happy retirement and thank her for all her hard work and commitment to the school and the children.

Mrs Michelle Martin, who with Mrs Edwards has been an inspirational force behind our Forest School, and who has taught our children with understanding and passion for three years, is moving to a new school closer to home.  We will miss Mrs Martin greatly and wish her all the very, very best for her future.

Mrs Wallbank, who has been a gentle and deeply caring TA in Year 1 for two years has decided to return to her original nursing profession. Good luck, Mrs Wallbank and thank you for your service to the school and our children.

Mrs Khanom, Year 2 MSA, is retiring from this post but will continue to devote herself to the school in her governor role for which we thank her from the bottom of our hearts.

Mrs Baker, who works for the NHS as speech therapist and who has supported the pupils in our Base for several years, has been promoted.  Mrs Baker is a therapist of the highest standing and has enabled our pupils to make outstanding progress.  We congratulate Mrs Baker on her promotion and thank her for everything she has done for the pupils in this school.

    Fri 02 Jul 2021

We will have to write to you about starting and finishing times in due course as at present no one knows what will be happening with COVID in the autumn. We all very much hope that life will largely return to normal by then!

  • Sports Day Update

    Fri 18 Jun 2021

We are so terribly, terribly sorry to have to announce that as Stage 4 of the Road Map did not proceed, Sports Days with spectators invited are not permitted.

The children will still experience and enjoy the events as planned and are all working hard to become fine sporting participants.

  • Open Evening and Book Fair - CANCELLED

    Fri 11 Jun 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce that the Open Evening and Book Fair are not able to take place this year.  The new variant of the virus is unfortunately spreading – and this time, as most older members of our population have now been vaccinated, it is sadly affecting younger people.  The latest guidance indicates that events such as Open Evenings are not safe.

We hope to hold an additional Open Evening in the autumn term.

  • Are your children school ready?

    Tue 08 Jun 2021

We know that children who are school ready are happy, healthy, curious and ready to learn.

The Early Years service, in partnership with early years providers, schools and Herts for Learning, have developed a school readiness guide to support families and children starting in Reception classes this September. It gives parents helpful advice and practical tips to help the smooth transition to 'big' school.
